How To Get A Sams Membership

I just got a Sam's Club membership. What are some tips or things that I should know now that I have one?

Any help or things that could save money or stretch my dollar farther. Any ideas?

What's even more convenient is that my bf loves white meat while I love dark. That $5, already cooked chicken will last us for almost a week of dinners. I'll buy their clamshell of spring greens and maybe some cherry tomatoes and it's a full week of lazy dinners for under $15 (less if I don't get the tomatoes).

If I'm seeing my mom that weekend we'll actually split the salad and tomatoes because neither of us will finish a whole pack in just a week.

At Sam's Club, look for anything with a one-cent on the end of the price.

A Sam's Club employee in Dallas told us, "Anything with a one-cent in the building means it's been discontinued. If you see a one-cent on the end, that means we're selling it far below the price we paid for it," the worker said.

Also, look closely at the price tag above or below the product. You will see a letter following the item number. This should help tell you when to buy. We're told a "C" means the item is discontinued. An "A" means the time is active.

And an "N" means Sam's Club will never run out. "We're always going to carry it. We've got tons and tons, like all the water and sodas," said an employee looking at an "N" on a price tag.

To expand on this: O means one time buy. They're trying out this item. C means canceled, D means discontinued. Not sure of the difference. S means seasonal. Also, Sam's has a great return policy. %100 percent satisfaction guaranteed. I've seen people return half eaten pies, a 7 year old plant, a rotisserie chicken that was full of maggots because they left it on the counter for a week. Just keep your receipt. And keep it away from heat and light or it will fade.

Shop on a full stomach. It's easy to drop $200 at sams on food when you are hungry because of the bulk packaging.

Which is easy, because they have a cafeteria with cheap food right in there! Hot dog, hot pretzel, and large drink for under $3.

OTC medicines are probably the biggest savings you'll find. The generic antacid medicine I buy is about $9 for two bottles of 90 each. The individual bottles of the Wal Mart brand cost almost that much in Wal Mart. The other Sam's brand painkillers and other medicines are usually pretty good deals, as well. The bottled water deals are pretty good, especially the Sam's brand. 40 bottles for $4.

Agreed. I got a 400 pack of generic Zyrtec (cetirizine hydrochloride) for something like $17 that I take daily. That's the same price for 30 Zyrtec in other stores.

Something to be mindful of: medications do have an expiration date. I would suggest only purchasing that much of something you use pretty regularly. I believe they become less active past that. And when I have a splitting headache, I want that shit full strength!

Alcohol. Also, garbage bags. I bought a ~$40 box three years ago and still have half left.

Those space bags are ridiculously cheap at sams club. My friend got 12 for $5. I went to walmart a few weeks earlier and bought 3 for $12.
